Hi VH,

Thanks for the message. :)

When I saw that coin, I knew that I had to have it. It is one of the nicest Campania MFB coins I have ever seen. I already have another example of that specific type ( :Greek_Theta: symbol). But this coin is so nice that I couldn't pass it up. It cost me an arm, a leg, and a lung. For the price of that coin, I could have purchased a really nice Greek silver coin. I had placed other bids in that auction. But that one coin was so much money that I had to let all of my other bids go. And I concentrated all of my efforts (and money) on that one coin. It was the only coin I won in that auction.

Well worth it! Almost worth it just for Manbull's facial expression...feels like a "surprised glare" ("Oh! I didn't see you there.  Don't be creepin' up on me like that or next time you'll get the hoof").

I love that story Meepzorp, I completely get it. I actually bid on a similar coin recently that was nowhere near as nice and it went for far above my budget. This is one of the coin types (man faced bull) that I would love to get an example of. Major congrats to you on this wonderful coin.

Hi folks,

Today, I re-arranged and re-organized my Roman Provincial, Mysia, Pergamon pages. Those pages were dis-organized, and many of my photo numbers were out of sequence. I re-numbered numerous photos. I expanded that city from 2 pages to 3 pages. I gave my silver coins from that city their own page. I did all of this to accommodate future growth.

Hi VH,

Thanks for the comment. I had a feeling that someone was going to comment on my chicken tokens. They are funny.

I am a third generation American of 100% Italian descent. My 4 grandparents were immigrants from Italy.

I got those tokens from my aunt's boyfriend back in the 1970s, when I was about 12 years old. I had an aunt (my mother's sister) who was divorced. In the 1970s and 1980s, she dated a man who was "off the boat" from Italy. He spoke broken English. He was a funny guy, and he had those tokens. I don't know where he got them. But he gave them to me when I was about 12 years old. I remember him laughing when he gave them to me. ;D

Hi folks,

I think I am finished working on my project. It took me 10 1/2 years. I began working on my project in November 2012. I began working on my website (which is Phase III of my project) in November 2015. My website alone spanned 7 1/2 years. My website consumed 7 1/2 years of my life, and my entire project consumed 10 1/2 years of my life.

Let's mark the date: March 12, 2023. That's the day I finished working on my project.

As I mentioned previously (above), I have some things that I decided not to post. For example, I decided not to post my antique US coins, my antique stock certificates, and my numismatic reference books. I may post my books at some point in the future, but not now.

Of course, whenever I receive new coins in the mail (my "new arrivals"), I will post them in my website. In fact, I am waiting for a few coins to arrive from Italy. I paid for them back in November/December 2022. The dealer is still waiting for export permission from the Italian government.

But I am finished posting my "previously acquired" material.

I think my website contains 766 pages. And I think I have approximately 2,500 ancient coins.

Hear! Hear!

I didn't know there would be a finish line. On the front of your site I see that you've been collecting ~25 years. I didn't know haven't found a description of the different phases of the project, but now I'm curious to know what they are... (If it involves shipping artifacts of human numismatic achievement through outer space & back to the home planet, make sure you get the proper export licenses where required!)
