Victor Emmanuel II.

(1/1)

Jochen:
Hi to our Italien friends!

I know this is no ancient coin, but I hope to get the solution to my problem.

I have a 20 Lira gold coin from Italy 1851. Obv. Victor Emmanuel II, legend:
Victorius Emmanuel II. Rex Sard. Cyp. et Hier., Dux Sab. Genuae et Montisf. princ. &

Hieropolis I think were islands in the Aegaean see, but what means Duke of Sab. Genuae et Montisfort. princ.?

Regards,
Jochen

Hello there.

Victorius Emmanuel II Rex Sard(inia) Cyp(rus) et Hier(usalem), Dux Sab(audiae) Genuae et Montisf(erratus). princ(eps)

VITTORIO EMANUELE II RE DI SARDEGNA, CIPRO E GERUSALEMME, DUCA DI SAVOIA E GENOVA E PRINCIPE DEL MONFERRATO

Jochen:
Hi Yafet_Rasnal!

Hieropolis evidently was a misinterpretation!

Thanks,
Jochen

yafet_rasnal:
