Nomination of "collector08888" as a Fake Seller
« on: January 24, 2019, 04:14:35 pm »
Hello all,

collector08888 is a seller with eBay, Worthpoint, and other websites that lists a number of high-quality replicas which he "conveniently" forgets to mention are replicas.  It seems he has started selling coins as well, so be warned that he has a long history of selling fakes, even if some of the items he sells may be genuine. When he is caught selling a fake, he typically bribes the buyer to remove the negative feedback from his profile.

A study of some of his "artifacts" when seen under a microscope can be found in the Egyptian antiquities thread.

The coin above seems like a possible fake, although the low quality images make it difficult to tell for sure. But, this is a seller with a long history of listing fake artifacts, so it may be best to include him either way.

Here is an image from a coin he is currently selling, the link of which is included above. It seems like something he has recently started doing. I noticed him selling it while browsing eBay earlier today.

He also seems to have started a recent profile on this website, although this particular coin does not seem fake to me:

Due to his unscrupulous nature selling fake Egyptian antiquities, I feel he should be avoided. A detailed look under a microscope of one of his obviously fake amulets can be found in the below thread:
