Mistake on Constans follis?
« on: June 01, 2023, 07:23:36 am »
Hello, I would like to ask for your help. Recently, I managed to find a follis in the forest, probably Constans. However, when I started to describe it my attention was drawn to an error in the inscription. Namely, there is a mistake in the name of the ruler, maybe it is not clearly visible on the photo, but it looks like this:  FL CONSTAS NOB CAES instead of the correct FL CONSTA(N)S NOB CAES. The mistake (?) is visible above the head. Is this a mint error or rather a barbaric imitation? Thank for answer and help
