Title: Russian Wire Money Authentic?
Post by: Zachary B2 on August 05, 2022, 02:52:36 pm
I picked up this piece of Russian wire money.  I was hoping someone with more knowledge on these could help confirm if it’s authentic and possibly help with an attribution.  I have recently gotten into Roman stuff, so just started learning about and getting into ancient/medieval coins.  Thank you!

My initial thoughts are Mikhail Fedorovich (1613-45).  I believe I can make out part of Mikhail on the reverse.

But I certainly welcome the opinions of others.

Thank you for the reply!  So it doesn’t raise any flags for being a fake?

I did some more digging and believe I may have found a match.  This is listed as an Ivan the Terrible design.  Look like a match?
