Looking at all those citygates it is a shame the icons were not used longer into the later Roman bronze era..... :)

They were used all the way through the 14th Century on French Deniers. The city of Tour (Tower in French) was represented by a tower figure and was one of the most active French mints. See coins below:



Looking at all those citygates it is a shame the icons were not used longer into the later Roman bronze era..... :)
