Constantius II or Constantius Gallus
« on: August 08, 2023, 10:13:48 am »
Hello friend, I'm rearranging some of my roman coins and i noticed that the cataloging of this coin is wrong.
I confused this Constantius Gallus for a Constantius II.

Obv: DN CONSTANTIVS IVN NOB C, A behind bust, bare-headed, draped, cuirassed bust right
Rev: CONCORDIA MILITVM, Emperor diademed and in military dress standing facing, head left, holding a labarum in each hand, star above, III in left field. Mintmark ASIS crescent

I opted for RIC VIII Siscia n°303,
but obv. indicated in RIC with G8/D1 are incorrect, because none of this is bare-head like for Constantius Gallus.

What do you think? am I doing something wrong?

Thanks for your time.
Jason D.

Constantius II was the emperor who ruled, when this coin was struck.

Gallus was his deputy and got his picture on some coins.
