doubt 2
« on: January 17, 2013, 04:13:29 pm »
I bought this coin few years ago.
I have a doubt about the genuinity of this coin...
Somebody can help me?
Did someone knows about a die match of a fake of this coin?

Fabric and surfaces look fine and though I'm not very familiar with these I looked at some genuine examples and the style seems fine as well.

What are your reasons for doubt?

It would help others  and those seeking to answer your question if you explained what you see as the reason to doubt its authenticity.

Worth noting is that questions of authentication should be posted on the Authentication, Fakes and Frauds discussion board if you want the experts in this field to see it and comment.... increases the likelihood that your authenticity doubt/question will be considered and comprehensively answered.

This example in particular looks very similar.

On the basis of your photograph the coin looks authentic.

The portrait style is slightly different but it otherwise looks very authentic, could just be a different die engraver.

I see nothing wrong with it.

Why are you suspecting it to not be genuine? Based on your photos I see nothing to condem it. Metal looks right, Venus's style is slightly different but with this spanish issue it is often seen with slight variations, likely different engraver... Curious still on why you are doubting this? Try a search on SYD 1015.
