Caracalla Hadrianopolis Wreath?
« on: October 03, 2009, 04:29:19 pm »
I have this worn provincial - I think the portrait is Caracalla. The reverse is a legend in wreath. I can make out on the reverse:
 :Greek_Alpha:
 :Greek_Delta: :Greek_Rho: :Greek_Iota: :Greek_Alpha: :Greek_Nu:
 :Greek_Omicron: :Greek_Pi: :Greek_Omicron: :Greek_Lambda: :Greek_epsilon:
 :Greek_Iota: :Greek_Tau: :Greek_Omega: :Greek_Nu:

Would this make it Hadrianopolis? I can make out all of the letters pretty well except the 3rd line (3rd and 4th letters) and 4th line (3rd letter)

I could not find any like this for Caracalla/Hadrianopolis- but I only have for provincials the internet. Does anyone have a reference for this- or am I off on my attribution?

(please excuse the fingers! I had a hard time photographing the detail)
