That is
part of the intrigue of
ancient coins. Where did they travel and who handled them. Many of the coins in my
collection show definite signs of use, as opposed to having just
sat in some government treasury as a store of wealth for the ruler of the day. Personally, that adds a
bit to their allure for me. I'm actually actively looking for some specimens that display banker's marks. What better indication, other than wear, that they actually were actively used in commerce.
