Help needed with authenticity and attribution.
« on: April 21, 2010, 10:25:52 am »
Hi all. I just bought this lamp and while I'm pretty sure it's authentic and trust the dealer,  I have no real knowledge of oil lamps. Also if anyone can could they provide and attribution for the lamp, all I was told was that it was 5th - 6th century Roman Syria. Any help would be much apprieciated. Thanks Adrian

There is no reason to doubt that the lamp is authentic and the "5th - 6th century Roman Syria" attribution given by the dealer is correct. It would be difficult to give a more precise attribution without context.
