Hi, has anyone seen this obverse before, where there are a reverse C over left shoulder?
or is it just a part of the crusade, that I have not seen before?
What do you think?
size: 17,3 mm

C is last letter of obverse legend:

Sometimes it is even stranger, when the engraver miscalculated the space needed for obverse legend and the last letter is placed already on the portrait.
-
The text on the coin would then be:
FL IVL CONSTANTIVS NOB C C, as I understand it, is that correct?
I have never seen the legend end with NOB C C, so that is also odd.
-
I read only one C:

It is the C over the shoulder I ask for not the C in the text around.
But finding another picture, I now see, that it is a part of the the Crusade, or something hanging down from behind.

something hanging down from behind.
Now I get it. What you recognized as letter "C" is in fact a loop to attach the paludamentum.
