A little off-topic, but every time I see this post come up on new topics, I get a kick out of it, because my initial reading of it is "hadron collider," which of course is something very different.

Some day when I get a camera, I will have to add my Hadrian to the list.  Hadrian of course, is the end of the expansion of the Roman Empire or you might say Trajan is the end with the addition of Dacia.

Kind Regards,
JBF

A second difference: throne back on the second coin, no throne back on the first.

A small difference on the obv. too: only one wreath band falling from the knot on the first coin, in contrast to the normal two falling bands on the second coin.

Oki,

Are my eyes deceiving me, or does the obverse inscription have a retrograde R in place of the S in HADRIANVS?  Maybe a die break or corrected inscription?  Looks unusual in either case.

Hello, my ol' coin friend ... stevex6 here (long time, no hear)

Congrats on continuing to build a sweet, sweet Hadrian Collection (it's a real pleasure to gaze through your stuff)

I like 'em all, but I especially love that Nilus with Hippo example! (gotta love the animal coins, eh?)
