I'm very happy to have acquired this piece. I find the style of these issues very appealing, even with the striking problems this one possesses. Not a coin that comes up for sale that often.

I'm happy to add this Domitian/Titus mule to my gallery.  I believe it is the only example of a muled sestertius under Titus. Considering the fact that I actively collect the Flavian Capta series, this was a home-run for me.

Any corrections / comments are always welcome.

Enjoy,
Nemo

It's been a busy January.  A Nero Damnatio has made its way into my collection. I'm currently trying to identify the small countermark beneath the ΘEC.  Pekka K suggested possibly Howgego 633.  I'm trying to get a clear example of that countermark.  Any other ideas are appreciated.

Enjoy,
Nemo

And neither last nor least.....  A coin I've been looking for for a bit.  A re-engraved Elagabalus denarius with the star left and right.

Just added a rare Vitellius / L. Vitellius denarius to my gallery. His interaction with some guy named Pontius Pilate adds interest for me.

I agree Q  :)

I just received a pretty cool countermarked prutah. Especially nice, imho, as the obverse is unstruck. A number of fakes and tooled versions means being extra cautious with these.

Thanks to Aarmale over in the Biblical coins board for the positive ID on the countermark.

Added a denarius of Tiberius and Macrinus.  The Tiberius has some corrosion but in hand the even toning makes it far less distracting, EF otherwise.  These early issues are my favorite.

Just got a hold of a rare Vespasian in quadriga.

https://www.forumancientcoins.com/gallery/displayimage.php?pos=-119705

Die match?

https://www.forumancientcoins.com/gallery/displayimage.php?pos=-13259

Yes, that is a die match with my example, evidence of how rare this type is for Vespasian at Rome. Heaps of this type were struck at Antioch, odd that Rome was stingy with it. I purchased mine nearly 10 years ago and yours is the first I've seen in trade since.

Congrats on a fabulous find!
