Augustus Ephesus mint ?
« on: August 08, 2007, 03:07:54 am »
The reverse is hard to read on scan, but in hand it is fairly clear
AE As
Obv:  CAESAR, bare head right
Rev: AVGVSTVS, with in wreath
Mint: Ephesus (?) their question mark
22.5-24.6 mm and scales at 7.5g
I have come up with RIC I, 486 page 80, 27-17 BC, rated Scarce
Good/Fair

Any other possibilities I missed?

The Asian mint is disputed (Ephesos, Pergamon, or even Antioch), and the RPC number is 1.2235.
