The legend made me think of Troas, Dardanos. But I can't find a match in acsearch or Wildwinds.

Dear Zoser, Meepzorp, and Board,

It is indeed a Greek bronze of Dardanus, and is apparently a scarce type according to my research---no specimens recorded in Isegrim, for instance.  But there are a few on Corpus Nummorum, including this clear plaster cast of one:
