Hi Young,

Is the reverse figure holding a trident? I can't tell for certain. If yes, then it is probably Poseidon.

Looks like Hadrian…to my old eyes.
Can’t make out the city.

Dear Young, Meepzorp, PeteB, and Board,

Good reading, Young!  The obverse should indeed read "[...ΑΔΡ]ΙΑΝΟC ΑΥΓΟΥCΤΟC."  For the reverse, I also tend to concur with the letters you read, which have led me to Bruzus and the suspected magistrate Roufeinos Drumikos ("ΡΟΥΦΕ[...] ΔΡΥΜΙΚΟΥ"):

Your coin would fit neatly into the denomination system for Bruzus during Hadrian's reign.  Also, the first letter after the magistrate's name could well be a beta.  That being all said, I don't feel completely confident in this attribution yet (I feel as if I have seen the obverse die before...), but there is nevertheless a fair amount of evidence here to support Bruzus as a good possibility.

Hope this helps!

Best regards,

Mark Fox
