Real Trajan from Alexandria or a fake?
« on: February 14, 2021, 07:42:09 pm »
Hi all,

Taking a close look at this Trajan AE Drachm from Alexandria, I've noticed in the edge cut that there is white inner core than contrasts with the bronzish outer layer.

Does this indicate its a fourrée?

The dimensions are 34mm and 20g. (which seems heavier than it should be, right?)

Just hoping someone can share an opinion on it.

Thanks.

Alex

Judging from the pictures, it does not look like a fake, it must be a genuine one.
