It is with great pleasure that we announce the imminent release of our book concerning the study of a monetary deposit from a disturbed period following the dislocation of the Byzantine Empire in 1204. Besides a catalog with detailed description of each monetary type and more than 200 coins illustrated in color, this book offers us a summary of the historical context, a repertory of the attributes and clothing of the emperors represented on the trachea of that period And a comparative analysis with three other treasures from the Balkans.

Preface by henri Pottier

Limited edition work, you can now pre-purchase or reserve this volume by sending me an e-mail : b.numis25000@gmail.com

Apparently a hoard from the very beginning of Michael VIII's reign.
So the "uncertain type" of Andronicus II can't be correct.

Hello Ross,
A good insight without having read the book  :)
Certain coins (4) are removed from the hoard. But they are in the study to define the provenance.
Best,
Cédric

  • Change we can believe in.
Hi Cédric,

If I were to suggest this to my daughter as a desirable Christmas gift, would the book be available for 25 December (UK delivery)?

Hello dear Bill,

Unfortunately, I don't know if it will be available for Christmas -

It all depends on the printer who announced "late December / early January"

I have the book in hand and it is very nice. Those damn little coins are still going to be a challenge but this will help a lot.

Thanks for the coin too!

That's really cool!  So I have TBM 26.  Now to brush-up on my French and figure out who issued it (don't tell me!).

So my coin, TBM 26, was issued by Manuel I Comnene (1143-1180). I can see why you find these so interesting!
