Tribunus Plebis (FORVM Member of the Year) Poll
« on: December 20, 2004, 10:30:24 am »
Please vote for our Tribunus Plebis (FORVM Member of the Year).  The Member of the Year is determined by a poll of FORVM members held each December.  To be eligible, the member must have been a member the entire year, be one of the top 50 posters, and either hold one or more of the other titles or serve as a moderator.  Only one Tribunus Plebis will be selected each year.  A member that is elected twice will be designated Tribunus Plebis Perpetuus (and will be excluded from future election because it is unnecessary).

I can see there being only one person in the running this year and most deservedly so too.
My vote is cast.

I agree with Maridvnvm.  There is one MAJOR contender this year.  Many others have been very helpful but the one I have voted for is VERY deserving of this recognition!! Vox populii.

I feel awed to be on the same list with Curtis. He is such a Gentleman and a Scholar. Not only was this a Great Year coin talk wise, but I got to meet Curtis in person a few times, and if you can believe it he is even nicer in person than on the web. I was surely blessed to have met such a person and I will never forget this Gentleman.

His knowledge of coins comes not only from his vast experience, but from his AWESOME library too. Curtis knows each book like the coins he so adaptly helps us with all of the time. The FORVM is so much better for Curtis' contributions this past year.......... here's hoping for a continued 2005.

Do I have to tell you where my vote went? I don't think so!!

I too am rather surprised and flattered to find my name on a list of people that includes Curtis, Kevin, and Salem. Everybody on the list put forward a tremoundous amount of effort and expertise to help out everybody who needed it, which can only make for an amazing Forum for us to gather. Of course we can't forget Joe and Alex and Sorin (webmaster), who make the whole thing possible!

Thanks to a member's correction of my poor Latin grammar, we have a small change to our member of the year award.  The corrected title is Tribuna Plebis for a female or Tribunus Plebis for a male.   A two time winner will be a  Tribuna Plebis Perpetua (for a female) or Tribunus Plebis Perpetuus (for a male).

Congratulations to Curtis Clay our Tribunus Plebis 2004 (Member of the Year)!  Curtis brings to the board his extraordinary expertise, but perhaps even more impressive is his continuous generous assistance to our members.  He has helped so many of our members this year with attribution, concerns of forgery, historical questions, and so on.  When I see a post from Curtis, I almost always think this whole thread needs to go to our Numism board.  His selection by our members was certainly well deserved.  Thanks Curtis!

It would have been an embarrassment if I'd been elected in such company! I didn't think it was likely though. Congratulations, Curtis, its well deserved.

Thanks to Forum for the honor!
I'm glad to answer questions when I can, and also learn things and assemble relevant material for my various projects through my participation in the discussion group!
I much appreciate the contributions of other members too, including all those who were my co-nominees for the award this year.
A happy and prosperous and numismatically educational 2005 to all!

Congratulations, Curtis!  =)

I look forward with great anticipation to the forthcoming publication of your research (yeah, I know you're not sure which project will get published next, I'll save everyone asking what it is) but it IS coming, right?  <G>

The online ancient numismatic community is a far, far richer world for the enjoyment of your presence. =)
