« on: February 25, 2012, 04:54:37 pm »
I need help identifying these three coins. I am very new to ancient coins so please bare with me. The first one says caesar avg, that's all I know. If you can, I would also like to know what they are worth (if any). Thank you in advance to all you experts on here.

The one in the middle is an AE28, of emperor Tiberius, the heir to Augustus. It is from Bilbilis, in Spain, Roman Provincial Coins #397. The other 2 I am looking at now, I am almost 100% they are Julio-Claudian, the first Imperial dynasty in Rome.- Ryan.

The three are Julian Claudian. Can't read legends on the third ( probably Spanish mint). The first is Claudius ,Constantiae reverse.
Not worth much given the condition. But value of a coin is a personal opinion.

The third coin (to the right) looks like a bust of Claudius to me, however the reverse is not familiar to me.

I think it's something Spanish, the reverse needs to be rotated 90° counter-clockwise.

Yes, you are right. I have seen it before but can't quite place it right now.  I think it it the city founders/priests plowing behind oxen.
