Does anyone know what this AE is? Maybe Latin Empire or Thessalonika? Part of the legend reads IWANI; obverse brockage

This is possibly the small trachy of John Comnenus-Ducas CLBC 14.36.3 which copies the common Latin small module Type A (SBCV 2044) but with the legend IWANIC-D (or similar).

Note that CLBC reference should read Penchev's Petrich Hoard Figs 202-208, Nos 938-60.
