Maybe this isn't ancient maps, but ancient coin maps. I ran across this map of someone's coin collection (not sure the person's name, but Forum Ancient Coins is referenced on his site, so I assume a member here. I think this is something I may try, mapping my collection, which may be done using the same mapping software.
The example site: https://www.scribblemaps.com/maps/view/Map-of-Ancient-Greek-Coins-in-the-TIFcollection/TIFcollectionCoinMap-Greek (https://www.scribblemaps.com/maps/view/Map-of-Ancient-Greek-Coins-in-the-TIFcollection/TIFcollectionCoinMap-Greek)
The mapping site where it appears you can create a map for free: https://www.scribblemaps.com/ (https://www.scribblemaps.com/)
If anyone has tried this, I would love to hear about it.

Hi Virgil,
I hope that you are doing well. This is a really neat idea and at some point this weekend when I'm on my Chromebook and not on my phone I might give it a whirl. Thanks for posting this.
Take care.
