Identification Help / Re: Large Hellenistic coin?

Always very much appreciated :) Very fast too!

See if I can find some harder ones; I have 10 here I haven't managed to find anything similar and another 10 or so that I found similar coins, but not quite the same. Should be something good in there :)

points to Julia Domna.

Size and weight could help further identification.

Identification Help / Ancient Arabic coin?
« Last post by Dave S3 on Today at 05:12:29 am »
This coin looks quite like some I have seen from Jordan and is concave.

The obverse has a possibly bare-headed male with a second figure behind, jugate style. The second figure looks to have a large hat. There may be some inscription at 12 oclock, looks like an R.

The reverse depicts a seated figure holding a branch in right and a tall staff/scepter in their left hand. Behind the seat is a cornucopia.

It is 19mm wide and weighs 3.7g.

Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Identification Help / Large Hellenistic coin?
« Last post by Dave S3 on Today at 05:07:58 am »
I am unsure if this is Hellenistic or Provincial.

It seems to depict Zeus' portrait on the obverse.

The reverse is possibly a nude Hermes, he is holding a caduceus (kerykeion), a staff with a serpent twined around, an something that could be a purse or a pestle. He has what looks like a lit altar to the left. The inscription is not in great condition, possibly the die was damaged or they have corroded off; it looks to start with AI (or AN, bottom left) and end in ΩN.

It is 22mm wide and weighs 7.5g.

any help appreciated!

Identification Help / Roman Provincial coin?
« Last post by Dave S3 on Today at 05:02:09 am »
It is very worn, but I was hoping someone here may have an idea what I am looking at with this coin?

Obverse shows a bearded head, looks Roman, perhaps Lucius Verus maybe.

I have no idea what I am looking at on the reverse.

Coin weighs 11.3g and is 25mm wide.

Any guesses appreciated!

Roman Coins / Roman empress

Hi!

I would appreciate if there would be information regarding this coin. The obverse shows clearly a bust of an empress, the reverse is damaged.
