Dear Antiq and Board,

After a very quick look at the obverse letters, I would tentatively suggest Arcadius.  Hopefully others will be able to give you a more detailed answer than that.

the coin is a SALVS REIPVBLICE

Mintmark only difficult identifiable. Could it be "ANTA" (RIC IX Antiochia 67b) as mintmark ?

I was thinking the same thing...the beady little eye and the oddly spaced legend make me think it is.

yes i believe so but still very nice example because we know how crude coins could be..
