thread): The Hristova/Jekov
rarity assessments, although more realistic than Varbanov's, are not always very convincing. For example, for the two "
Eros with reversed torch and bow" coins that they list, 8.14.16.1 (
Septimius Severus) and 8.22.16.4 (
Geta Caesar), both rated as "R5" (over 50 specimens known), I know of only 3 and 7 specimens respectively. As well as adding new
types to the next edition, they might consider an overhaul of the
rarity assessments.
