Hi all,

is there someone who knows more about this Coin, Hadrian as Founder and being biblical?



Phoenicia, Ake-Ptolemaïs. Hadrian. Æ 21 Hadrian, as founder plowing

Reference.
Kadman 103; cf. Rosenberger 48 (head right); cf. Rouvier 1000 (same).; Hendin 819

Obv. IMP TRA HADRIA[NO CAESAR]
Laureate, draped and cuirassed bust right, seen from front.

Rev. DIVOS CLAV above, C-O-L/PT-OL in two lines across field. (COL PTOL=Colonia Ptolemais)
Hadrian, as founder plowing right with yoked bull and cow; in background, four standards.

Except that given that Claudius founded the colony, and the rev. legend names DIVOS CLAV, the togate figure depicted as founder of the colony on the rev. must surely be Claudius I not Hadrian.

Yes, divos (old form) or divus (usual during the empire) means "deified", in the nominative case, masculine gender, singular.
