Geta Bizya - unrecorded
« on: September 22, 2011, 05:49:48 pm »
I know of a similar coin of Phillip I with

Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust right / Demeter standing facing, head left, holding patera and scepter.

This don't look like a woman

Any Bizya fan who can help me ID this coin?

I too think it is Geta. The rev. looks like Zeus. But this type is not listed in Varbanov. And I have no other sources for Bizya.

Not in Lindgren III, SNG Cop, Berlin, Imhoof MG or GM, or Mionnet. This reverse listed for Ant. Pius in BMC (BMC 4).  Under Sept. Severus in Mionnet (175). I will add this to wildwinds as a Mionnet 75 var.
