Contemporary forgery of the Day
« on: January 28, 2007, 11:26:58 pm »
Dear Friends

Here I got a real nice contemporary forgery of a Celtic coin.
I really like this one. I wonder who minted it.
It is a really intersting.

I hope you share my opinion.

Best wishes,
Burak

Hi,

This looks like a Durotriges silver stater 58 BC - 45 BC  (at least supposed to be silver  ;D ) Van Arsdell 1235-1; Mack 317; Spink 366

An extremely crisp and detailed coin! If it is Durotriges it should be early I think. I'll see if I can find a parallel.
