My Alexander the Great drachm cleaning project finished.

Here is my Alexander III the Great Drachm that I finished cleaning a little while back. Got a great deal on it since it was uncleaned.

Abydos mint 328-323 B.C.  Lifetime issue.
Obverse: Head of Alexander as Herakles head right in Nemean lion headdress
Reverse: AΛEΞANΔΡOΥ, Zeus enthroned left, eagle in right, scepter in left, monogram under throne, forepart Pegasos left.

Very nice!  What method did you use?

Mainly distilled water and lemon juice with a nylon brush. I very carefully used a scalpel early on to scrape some of the thick stuff off.

Excellent, especially that you were able to keep some of the toning.  It highlight the features of the coin.
