Hi all,
I found the below in a
Syracuse (
Italy) antiques
shop today. I'm on holiday and always like to find something old from wherever I visit and rightly or wrongly, went for this. I am no coin expert however if anyone has any idea what this might be, I would be most grateful for your input.
The coins metal composite appears a much better
quality than the surrounding fixture and pin, which appears to be silver plate (copper based judging by the specs of green creeping through). In case it's not clear, their appears to be an 'X' on the
face side with the letters 'MV (joined up) Aa V' above the bottom line. Also their are 3 stars and a half moon on the top above the horses, with a single
star above the lettering. Any
help given to identify this would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance 😊
