Under Trajan Anchialus added "Ulpia" to their name, the gentil name of Marcus Ulpius Traianus. So the official name of the city was "Ulpia Anchialus".

Is the form grammatically a genitive plural? So a literal translation would be "of the Ulpian Anchialeons" (meaning "coin of the Ulpian Ancialeons).
