A beautiful lady, but she is said to have been arrogant and quarrelsome.

Best regards

Yes, she doesn't always look so sweet and meek.  Compare the girl on the denarius with the gimlet-eyed, strong nosed portrait on this coin of Pautalia.  I would not like to be on the receiving end of a disapproving stare from this lady!  George Spradling

vitellivs, your Plautilla surely looks friendlier and younger than that of mine or wandigeaux. I wonder what kind of nose she actually had. Anyway, being married to such a brute as Caracalla must have had a bad influence. Furthermore, many of the reverse legends appear quite ironic in the light of what we know.

What a wonderful portrait of hers. Many of you know my attachment to Plautilla. That portrait is to put in the top 10

Congrats.

PS : may I add an overview, showing different styles in portraiture ?

I think that George's Plautilla portrait from Pautalia is exceptional, too.

May I add a Plautilla more? It is a provincial coin of Nikopolis and shows Plautilla with her usual 'melon' hairdo. And she looks very similar to the depiction on the denarius RIC 362.

Best regards
