Germanicus? AE3016.79g Artemis rev?
« on: April 12, 2020, 10:42:20 pm »
Folks, not sure what to think of this one, cannot find it in RPC.  It appears to be from Macedon.  Obverse legend looks to be Germanicus but bust does not.  Reverse appears to me to be Artemis hunting with hound.  Any help is appreciated!!
Thanks,
Dave

Dear David C13 and Board,

Congratulations on a terrific find!  From RPC Online:

https://rpc.ashmus.ox.ac.uk/coins/1/1615

For your information, "Germanicus" is a victory title, and as such, was used by many Roman emperors, as the following list demonstrates:

Hope this helps.

Best regards,

Thank you so much, I was totally barking up the wrong tree there.
