Old one from my collection, but new in the my forum gallery.

Bare head of the praetor L. Livineius Regulus to right.

Gladiators fighting animals: in the foreground a gladiator attacks a lion with a trident,
above another attacks a panther. Above left, boar seated right.

I like the interesting perspective on the reverse. I have tried to start a topic about interesting perspectives on ancient coins.

Very nice, :) I wonder why the boar is just sitting there though!

I think that the boar is intended as mortally wounded.

Very much agree with you on the charming aspect of this one.

In fact, when I looked at it my mind sort of wandered back 1900 years and I imagined what it must have looked, sounded, smelled, tasted and felt like to be in the Coliseum on any given day when there was entertainment going on.

Thank you all for the kind words.

I really like this reverse.
In some descriptions i found that this coin is one of three known types with gladiatorial fighting scene.

I like the interesting perspective on the reverse. I have tried to start a topic about interesting perspectives on ancient coins.
