Hi,

I have a couple of full trays in my gallery below:

Carausius, tray 1

Countermarked Spanish

Mediaeval English oddments

Seeing collections as if you were there is good in my view.

Regards,

Mauseus

Very very nice! And great photo quality!!! It's tough to get a photo of an entire tray in focus but those are terrific!

Thank you both for sharing pictures like these, I simply love them.

I would take a few pics of my denarii if they weren't stored in a bank box in boring coin boxes. I need to get some decent trays! Until then, your pictures are a vicarious treat.

I am in the process of moving some coins into new trays, both for storage and ease of transfer when traveling and wishing to move into safer storage. Here is a tray of a few Manuel I .

I'm also trying to finally photograph my coins and do some research about them. I'm still learning how to use a camera, though. Here's a tray of republicans. Includes a number of minting errors, fourrés, al-marco adjustments and coins with graffito next to ones that are of better 'collector' quality.

Wow. I'm impressed. I recently began collecting ancient coins and have become so addicted that I can't seem to stop. While my meager collection pales in comparison to these, I hope that it will one day be equally as impressive. I am curious as to how long it took each of you to build your collections.

20 years, but the point at which you have a collection serious enough to fill trays and cover tables comes by surprise. One day you regard yourself as a beginner. A year or two later, you think "my table top would make a neat photo to share". There's no dividing line between these points but it probably happens faster than you think, specially if you specialise and thus have a reason to study the coins in an accumulated manner.

For me maybe collecting five years or so and still feel seriously a beginner in many ways.

Great pictures!  While I like high-quality pictures of individual coins, I find pictures of collections and groupings more visually appealing, even if some detail is lost.

You guys have some enviable collections!
