another uncommon coin has crossed my way:
AE 33, 17.82 grm., holed
Obv.: Laureate,
cuirassed bust of
Valerianus senior right, AV KAI POV LIKI OVALERIANOC
CEBRv.: Draped female
bust (
Isis?) right, AIGEAIWN NEWKOROV ET T
I could not find it in any references. The only similar female
reverse busts from Aegeae I could find were those of
Isis - however, there is not the slightest indication of a crown on the
reverse bust.
So, I am grateful for any ideas.
