Severus Alexander as
(1/1)
Numerianus:
Of course, middle bronzes not a la vogue now.
I have difficulty to identify this one.
Severus Alexander AE as.
Obverse: IMP CAES M AVR SEV ALEXANDER AVG, laureate draped bust right.
Reverse: (LIBERALITA)S (AVGV)STI II ?
Should be Cohen 123...
It is interesting that the corresponding GB Cohen 122 evalueted as high as 60 FF while MB
costs nothing. In fact, this MB of Alexander is not frequently offered ...
rick fox:
Good evening,
I was thinking more along the lines of:
LIBERTAS AVGVSTI I S C
Kibertas standing left
S C on either side of her...
Cohen, H. (153)
Anyone???
Numerianus:
Cohen 153 is GB and the reverse legend is LIBERTAS AVGVSTI ...
GB=Grand bronze, i.e. sestertius.
rick fox:
GB?
Thanks

Nice obverse and patina. Too bad about the reverse. These middle bronzes are rare and unappreciated which makes them easy to collect :)
