Unknown Coin - Indo-Scythian or Kushan ?
« on: February 24, 2023, 09:19:11 pm »
Have had this coin for over 9 or so years, but really have no clue what it is. I just finished my modern world collection and now slowly getting into Ancient coins so I really want to know what this is and if its even a real coin.

What about material, size and weight?

Following the legible parts of the legend it could be a coin of the Bactrian ruler Hippostratos:

But with these pictures it is hard to tell something about authenticity  :-\.

I doubt that is a legitimate ancient coin.  It looks like a cast.

A picture of your piece out of the coinholder would a judgment make easier, Ritvik.

Here are some pictures without the case. I think the material is bronze. No idea on the weight and diameter. Also it could very well be not a real coin, I don't know.

Thank you, for the better pictures, Ritvik.
But the piece looks like cast in wet sand to me.
It would amaze me if this would turn out to be a genuine coin.
