Brockage coins and ancient errors
« on: January 07, 2016, 09:24:19 pm »
I have had the opportunity to acquire some very nice examples of brockage coins and thought I would share them with you.
I would very much like if you have any comments or perhaps a brockage coin of your own to share.
I am attaching a link to my gallery for these coins.  I also will be adding another example in a few days.

Thanks Q.
I noticed that on one of your brockage  coins you had a probable mint.  I was wondering if it was possible to tell by the style of the coin the probable mint but likely  the only way to know for sure is if you find a die match.
Previously there was a discussion explaining the differences between clashed dies and brockages and it was very helpful as I didn't really know how to tell the difference.  I feel confident about knowing the difference now.
I would hope more collectors would share their error coins and even the clashed die coins.  I would think there would be a possibility for having more than one example of the same clashed die unless they took it out of service as soon as it was noticed.
