Title: Coin details embedded in photo - opinions?
Post by: agord on March 25, 2021, 03:09:15 pm
Trying out a new, for me, way of saving my photos. A little more work when saving them but I think it makes it easy to tie the pic to the coin.
An example below. Let me Know what you think.

Excellent.

Your photo file can then also double as an inventory, be used to print a lebel, etc.

It's a fine, if unusual, idea.  I've seen corporate logos (useless!) added to photos, but not descriptions (useful!).  You're effort is very nicely executed. I like the details you've chosen, the font size, and locations; I wouldn't change an thing.

This is particularly helpful for photo galleries where you don't have additional context.  For example, you're at a coin show, and you want to see if you already have a similar coin.  If you have an internet cloud-based coin photo folder (such as OneDrive), you can then scroll through the folder, using your phone or tablet, quickly and easily to find the coin(s) in question. Normally, you don't have descriptions unless they're on the coin or, possibly, in the filename.

I use thumbnail photos on the back of my tags (they're all 2x4 inch, folded to 2x2 and placed in flips) to which I've added the filename. I use the same thumbnail photos (without the filename) to upload to the Forvm member gallery.
