A fantastic find. I am a big fan of the II COS reverse series and have 8 examples but not this one. Congratulations.

If not already done, someone asked for examples of layout scribe circles from fresh dies. Your reverse is a great example to cross post to that thread.

I don't have that reverse type from that issue but I do have this one from a different reverse die from the II COS issue

which shares an obverse die with this one.

Obv:– IMP CAE L SEP SEV PERT AVG II COS, Laureate head right
Rev:– FORTVNAE REDVCI II COS, Fortuna standing left holding rudder and cornucopia
Minted in Emesa, 194 - 195 A.D.

Hi, Martin,

I recognized your "BONAE SPEI II COS" coin when I look in your great gallery...

The other interesting specimen "FORTVNAE REDVCI II COS" I realized just now, a great coin too... +++

There is also this peculiar version for Domna. Not a II COS but a COS II reverse.

Julia Domna denarius
Obv:– IVLA (sic) DOMNA AVG, Draped bust right, hair tied in bun behind
Rev:– VIRTVS AVG COS II, Roma, seated left on shield, holding Victory and spear
Minted in Alexandria, A.D. 194
References:– RIC - (Unlisted Hybrid with reverse from Sept. Sev. 350I (which is R2))
