I agree, the coinage I could look at is overwhelming and all of it is interesting. It goes back to
Persia and
Bactria. There is much more than what I started on with my current focus and
part of my focus is that book I mentioned, In the Treasure Room of the Sakra Kings, that deals with shrines in what is now Pakistan that operated from around 500-1200 AD under a succession of different rulers who all seemed to be
fine with the shrines, including the Ghazanavids. The shrines
had their own independent small
votive coinage that are pretty interesting in their own right, although I am not sure I have ever seen one of those for sale. I know I have a couple
Bactrian coins, but even the Seleucids were a factor for a while. The other two in my
gallery right now are Hindu Shahis, I need to edit those entries a
bit. The Nezak coins like this one seem to be pretty common, perhaps the most common, there is also a series that doesn't have the
bull's
head, but is otherwise very similar. I think the Alchon huns have some fairly common coinage. The rarest seem to be the Turki Shahis from my period of interest.
