Hi!
Here is the next one, bought ca.1964 in Afghanistan. Looks cast for me.
Anyone who have seen this type? Weight 7.28g, diameter 24mm.
Any information appreciated!
Regards,
Jochen
Jochen:
And here is the reverse.

Manzikert:
It is a tetradrachm of Hermaeus, c.40-1 BC, but I am also fairly sure it is cast, rather than struck as it should be.
The weight is a bit low (mine weighs 7.68 gm), and the diameter is a bit small (mine is 26.5 mm), both of which also suggest it is false.
Jochen:
Thanks, Jochen

Hi Jochen,I've been hoping I could help you on a question since you helped me,First it is a posthumous issue of Hermaeus issued by Indo-Scythians,I think it is genuine just not in very good condition, weights low because of deteriation of silver, and flan is worn
Bopearachchi Serie 14, from 55 - 25 BC
regards
Andrew
