Thin AE coin with star
« on: January 22, 2012, 05:47:18 am »
Hi-

This coin came in a lot of 12 century trachy.  It is a small thin AE with a star on one side and what looks like a facing head on the other.  I could be entirely wrong about the headDiameter 15 mm, mass 1.21 g

Thanks

Colin

I have seen a similar Judean coin with the same star of David.

As far as I know there are no Judean coins with the Star of David on them.  There are many Islamic coins with it.

Correct, Judaean coins don't have Seals of Solomon.  This is very common on Islamic coins, mostly from Morrocco.
