(1/1)

Barabus:
I just started cleaning this coin.It is 25 mm and 11.7 grams. It appears to be Honorius and has standing figure with what appears to be two dogs.I tried wildwinds, but diidn't see this rev.I would like to find a photo to help me with cleaning. Please help I am new with this hobby.

Tom Mullally:
Your coin is a Roman provincial coin from Viminacium in Moesia Superior.  I can't quite make out enough of the obverse legend to tell you which emperor it is, but my first guess is a young Philip II.  Browse thru the Wildwinds page on Viminacium and you may find a match.

Robert_Brenchley:
Can you read the number in the exe? It will be AN followed by a Roman numeral. It looks a bit like IV from what I can see, but that would make it Gordian III and it doesn't look like him so I think I'm misreading it.

Barabus:
Thanks guys for pointing me in the right direction.I can read ANXV in the exe.
