Possible Bronze Disease
« on: October 26, 2006, 05:46:48 pm »
I was wondering if this coin I just purchased had bronze disease. It is a very nice coin and I am not familiar with bronze disease so I decided to ask. Personally, I think it is just an encrustation, but its better to be safe than sorry. Thanks for the help.

It seems too dark and not powdery enough to be bronze disease.  I am 95% sure it is isn't bronze disease, but encrustation or something similar.  Bronze disease tends to be "fluffier" looking and much lighter in color.  Enjoy the coin, she's a nice one!  Philip II of Macedon!

None that I can see, either.

If that's bronze disease then my name is Gaius Messius Quintus Traianus Decius!
