but we can add Maximianus Herculeus (I think) to this intriguing die chain  :)

Incredible. This chain is getting longer and longer and more absurd. It is not Maximianus Herculius. It is apparently Philip I!!! Maximianus is even not born yet. I see:

AYTOK K M IOYΛI ΦIΛIΠΠOC CEB

like on this Antiochian tetradrachm

Could you give me the weight and the diameter, please. I would like to add this coin here:

So Philip shares reverse with Diocletian and the same Diocletian shares reverse with Jovian. Have I accidentally discovered an ancient time machine?

Dear Board,

The absurdity continues...  Currently up for bid and for your amusement is the attached follis of Constantius (28.1mm, 8.7g.), paired with the reverse of a Syrian tetradrachm of Uranius Antoninus!  It is die-matched to the reverse of this phony tetradrachm in the Fake Reports:

https://www.forumancientcoins.com/fakes/displayimage.php?pid=12749

I suspect the auction house was duped by the fake follis.  Many of their other coin lots look completely fine to me, but lack proper attributions and emanate from the lands of modern-day Turkey, which is where I am leaning for the origin of the fake as well, in combination with its possible brethren.

Best regards,

Obviously another member of the family. This patina is so characteristic....

Apparently the same obverse here (many different examples).

A new reverse die has appeared on ebay.
The coin looked fake (surface and patina) and I remembered that there were fakes of this type so I looked in my fake folder and found the die link.

Thanks, Din. Now we need to check the adventures of this new reverse. Who knows which emperor will surprisingly emerge...

We have now 1 correct obverse and 1 correct reverse die for Maximinus
And we have now 1 correct obverse and 1 correct reverse die for Maximinus II.

It had to be expected that there is for each emperor one obverse and one reverse die.
