"Southern" Roman Mint?
« on: September 21, 2021, 09:44:09 pm »
This coin of Victorinus is reportedly minted at the "southern mint" of Rome.
Where might one find this mint?

While not definitive, there is archeological evidence of a gallic mint at Trier.  The only real question is if it was the only one or not at the time.

Strange, as Victorinus as emperor ruled over areas in the north-western part of the Roman Empire.
