Hello again Jochen; I think your #015 is http://rpc.ashmus.ox.ac.uk/coins/4/10923/ -- in a much worse condition, I have one as well.

Thanks, I had found the coin from Jochen's instruction.

Curiously the coin is listed under the city Topirus, but not among Commodus' provincial coins after his imperial coins, under Commodus in the list of Roman emperors.

A doubtful coin for Diadumenian

Diadumenian, AD 217-218
struck under Aurelius Gallus
obv. M OP DIADVMENIANOS [CAESAR?]
       Bust, draped, bare-headed, r.
rev.: VPA.AVR GALLOV NIKOPOLITWN / PROC ICTR
Asklepiad triad stg. frontal, Hygieia feeding snake in r. arm, Asklepios stg. frontal, head facing, between them Telesphoros with pointed hat
ref. a) not in AMNG
      b) not in Varbanov
      c) not in Hristova-Hoeft-Jekov (2017):
rev. No. 8.18.21.2 (for Caracalla, same die)
          obv. unknown
Münz Zentrum Rheinland, Auction 175, 13. Jan. 2016, Lot 1180

This coin is very doubtful. It is remarkable that the obv. legend is written in Latin, very unusual for Nicopolis. This legend is unknown until now. And the rev. is from the same die as No. 8.18.21.2 for Caracalla.

That seems an impossible type combination!

The different patination on each side makes me think this is not a single coin, but rather a mixup of pictures joining the obverse of one coin with the reverse of another.

Maybe the auction was for a lot of two coins, and they showed the front of one and the back of the other.  I've chased a few coins like that because the catalog was in a language I didn't understand.

Dear Joe!

Thank you for your contribution.

(1) 1st coin: Surely the style is Thracian/Northern Greece and IOVL DO - CEBACTH is known from Nicopolis ad Istrum too. But the hair-do would be a new one. Sadly the rev. legend is incomplete. So any mint with POLIS at the end is possible. And I have found it:
Plotinopolis, Julia Domna, Varbanov 1842 (same dies!), extemely rare (R9):
obv. IOVLIA DO - CEBACTH, draped bust r.
rev. PLWTEINO - POLEITWN, Tyche, wearing kalathos, stg. l., holding rudder and cornucopiae.

(2) 2nd coin: Yes, indeed, it is a completely new type for Geta!
I would describe it this way:

#023

A completely new type for Geta

Geta as Caesar, AD 198-209
AE 21, 4.601g, 0°
obv. L AVR K - .GETAC
       Bare head r.
rev. NIKOPOLITWN PROC IC
       Bearded head of Herakles r.
ref. a) not in AMNG
      b) not in Varbanov
      c) not in Hristova-Hoeft-Jekov (2017):
rev. 8.18.14.29 (for Caracalla, same die, Herakles with protruding chin)
obv. e.g. No. 8.22.6.3 (same die, even the dot before GETAC!)
Joe Sermarini, Forum Ancient Coins, March 2017

Another example for a parallel issue for members of the imperial family!
